Summertime and the livin' is easy
My favorite blogs feature crisp images, thoughtful words, pretty things, new discoveries, and (harmlessly) voyeuristic peeks into a stranger's life. All of these qualities make for quite a tall order in terms of starting a blog, so much so that it can be paralyzing. With this in mind, I will start small. I will follow the cliche and will start with what I know.
My primary creative outlet these days is simply trying to capture some very wiggly children with my phone's camera. (I told you I'd start small.) We've had a relatively relaxed summer; P has work, as usual, but I am done with course work and have had a real summer vacation. We've made trips to the local amusement park, gone on a couple of weekend trips out of state, and taken lots and lots of walks around the neighborhood and downtown. The scorching temperatures have proven to be a blessing in disguise (I hate the heat, so this is a statement I don't make lightly!), as we have gone to great lengths to find ways to cool off. We made several trips to local parks and our favorite natural area to wade in streams and swim in lakes; we've packed picnics after work and eaten downtown, at the local amusement park late in the evening--all of which are pretty great places to take photos.
It's been a good summer.
